How to Remove the Front Headlamp on Ford Mondeo

Removing the headlamps on a Ford Mondeo is a fairly simple job, usually done when replacing the entire headlamp unit or simply to change the bulbs. First, open the bonnet and locate the bracket that secures the top of the headlamp to the body frame; this will be fastened with a screw that needs to be undone. Once the first screw is removed, there will be a second one on the inner side of the headlamp that secures it to the grille, and this also needs to be taken out. To simplify the extraction of the headlamp, it is advisable to remove a third screw that secures the outer side of the grille to the car frame, allowing the grille to flex and providing more space to remove the headlamp. After removing all the screws, simply pull the headlamp forward to extract it from its housing; it will still be connected to the car via the power connector, which can be disconnected if replacing the entire headlamp or left in place if only accessing the cover that houses the bulb holders and bulbs.
