How to install a custom grille on the Ford Transit

Let's see how to install the custom grille on our Ford Transit: we start by removing the existing grille, and removing the five screws at the top, which we will detach. We will also need to remove the two headlights, secured to the body with two T30 screws and the electrical connector.

We will also need to remove the top part of the engine cover. Of course, we will also need to remove the lower part protection, a task that will be easier if we lift the vehicle; we will also need to remove the fenders, also secured by plastic clips, but in the front also by bolts.

We will need to separate the lower bumper from the upper one, so we will need to disconnect all electrical connectors and pipes present, before removing the fixing bolts. The vehicle in the video has a 360° camera, so on the new grille we will need to drill specific holes.

Now let's remove the grille from the bumper: a delicate task to be done carefully, just like removing the Ford logo from the central oval. As for the new grille, each of us will have their own preferences: the options on the market are endless.

If we need to install the 360° camera the situation is a bit more complicated because we need to drill a hole and we need to be sure to do it in the right place and of the right size, and then screw the device. Now we will position the grille on the bumper with the same patient work we did to remove it. We put the Ford oval back in place and then the cables.

And we go back to reposition the bumper in its place, reconnecting the electrical connectors and then the fixing bolts. We can then start putting the fenders back in place, then the lower part of the engine protection.

We then move on to the upper part and finally screw back the five screws of the initial finishing.
