Instructions for Replacing Spark Plug Leads

Wear and damage of spark plug leads is a common issue in older vehicles. In any case, a fault in the lead can compromise proper combustion, affecting both engine performance and fuel consumption. It is advisable to perform this maintenance with the engine cold for obvious reasons. Remove the plastic cover from the rocker cover to access the spark plugs, disconnect one lead at a time from the spark plug, and follow the lead to the ignition coil, replacing the old lead with the new one. Repeat the same process for all spark plugs.
