When carrying out a repair that requires the disassembly of the cylinder head, it is good practice to use a new set of pins for the subsequent fixing; start by reworking the threads of the fixing holes with a tap of the correct diameter and pitch (use a thread counter to select the pitch) avoiding that chip residues can end up in the cylinders; then apply copper grease to the bottom of the thread and immediately under the head of the new pins before installing them, to prevent them from oxidizing and making subsequent disassembly difficult; then proceed with the tightening of the pins following a crossed type scheme and using the dynamometric wrench and then the graduated one.

Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD gearbox oil replacement

Let's see in this guide the main steps to be able to change the transmission oil of the second series Fiat Ducato, with 2.8 JTD engine. First of all we lift the car and go to locate the gear oil vent bolt, which we find near the transmission; we use a hex wrench to unscrew it, letting it drain the old oil in a container for about ten minutes. At this point we open the bonnet and remove the air intake sleeve, so as to be able to access the gearbox oil filling hole; then we fill up to the maximum level!
