Replacing Cylinder Head Fixing Bolts

When replacing the cylinder head gasket, it is good practice to use a new set of bolts for securing it. Check the flatness of the cylinder head and block surfaces using a straight edge and a feeler gauge. Then apply the new gasket, position the cylinder head, and use the new bolt kit for securing it, applying copper grease just under the head and on the tip of the thread. Use a torque wrench and a standard wrench to tighten the bolts in a cross pattern.
