Replacing the Instrument Cluster in the Ford Focus

To replace the instrument cluster in the Ford Focus, proceed as follows. Sit in the driver's seat; above the steering column, there is a plastic cover that needs to be removed by lifting it. Use a small screwdriver to pry at the top of the cluster to extract it from its housing. Once pulled out, be careful with the electrical connections at the back, locate the connector for the cluster, and loosen the release lever. At that point, you can disconnect the connector, freeing the instrument cluster. Take the new cluster and reverse all steps for reassembly.
