The oil light on the Ford Explorer can be reset using only the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel, without the need for a computer. Here’s how to do it. Turn on the instrument cluster of your Ford Explorer and press the "Menu" button to enter the car's settings menu.

Scroll through the various options until you reach "Setting" and press "Ok" to enter the sub-menu, then select "Oil Life". Press and hold the "Ok" button to initiate the reset. Once completed, you can go back, close the menu, and then also turn off the instrument cluster.
