Ford Focus - Video tutorial

Model: Ford Focus MK 2, Focus 2 - Years 2004-2011
Part: Battery
Operation: How to replace the Ford Focus battery

In this video tutorial we can see how you can replace the Ford Focus battery. The first thing to do is get into the car, pull the handbrake and remove the key from the ignition. Pull the bonnet lever and lift the grille logo, then insert the key to unlock the bonnet. Once the bonnet has been lifted, you must secure it with a special rod. The battery is located to the right of the engine hood; the material needed to work: a 10 socket wrench and a socket wrench with extension. Now you have to remove the plastic protections from the battery. Start disconnecting the negative pole and then the positive one to avoid generating dangerous sparks for the car's electrical network. Once the battery terminals have been disconnected, remove it from its seat and replace it with the new one. Reassemble all the parts by proceeding in reverse order.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
