How to Reset the Oil Service Light on Ford Focus

In this video tutorial, you will see how to reset the oil service light on a Ford Focus Mk3. First, perform maintenance on the vehicle, such as changing the engine oil and filters. Enter the vehicle and close all doors, including the boot and the bonnet, as otherwise the procedure may not be successful. Engage the handbrake, press the start button to turn on the instrument cluster; the display will show the message (CHANGE ENGINE OIL and the spanner and oil can icons); now press the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal simultaneously, and the display will show "Service Oil reset in prog." Wait for about twenty seconds with your foot on the pedals, and you will have completed the reset, so the message "Reset complete." will appear. Now you can release the pedals. Turn off the ignition and wait for two minutes, then turn on the ignition to verify the reset was successful.
