How to Replace the Battery in a Ford Key Fob

The procedure for changing the battery in a Ford key fob is the same for all models in the range and is as follows: First, extract the emergency key from the fob. Then, using a small screwdriver (in the video, they use the key itself, but this is not recommended), lever between the two plastic covers of the fob. At this point, you will see the button cell battery, which is a common CR2032 that you can find for a few pounds anywhere, in a newsagent or supermarket. Remove the battery from its housing with the same screwdriver and replace it with a new one. Ensure you position it with the correct polarity. Refit the plastic cover and reinsert the emergency key into its housing. Task completed.
