Today's guide shows you the main steps to remove and replace the rear hatch of the Ford Escape. First, open the trunk hatch and start by removing the plastic panel or interior trim of the hatch itself; then, unscrew the mounting screws located at the top, behind the pillar, disconnecting the electrical connector of the third brake light. At this point, disconnect both hydraulic struts from the trunk hatch, remove it, and replace it with the new one; try to center the installation of the rear hatch as much as possible!
