To open the tailgate, Ford technicians have devised an ingenious solution that is equally convenient for the driver: simply have the remote key in your pocket so that it can be recognised by the vehicle through the transponder device, then pass your foot under the bumper strip so that a specific sensor detects it and grants permission to open the tailgate; if your hands are occupied with a bulky package, this is a very handy solution to store it directly in the boot.
