Front Bumper Repair

Have you damaged your bumper and replacing it would be too expensive? This is the guide for you! First, remove the bumper from the car. Next, using a heat gun, heat the damaged area; this will make the plastic more malleable, allowing you to reshape it to its original form. Once reshaped, cool the heated area to maintain the original shape. In case of cracks or holes in the bumper, drill holes to keep the broken parts together with zip ties. After a good sanding on both the outside and inside with P150 sandpaper, clean the entire area with acetone. On the outer side, cover the cracked area, including the holes with zip ties, using masking tape, while on the inner side, place a reinforcing mesh. Now, using two-component glue, mix it and apply it to the inside of the bumper over the reinforcing mesh, then place gauze over the glue. Remove the masking tape from the outer side and proceed with the repair using only the glue. After the glue has dried, refine the outer area, clean it properly, and apply a reinforced filler mixed with a catalyst to speed up the hardening process. After applying it, wait for it to dry and apply another coat with the same filler. Now, use a finer sandpaper for the final refinement and start cleaning the entire area to apply the final lighter filler for definition. If necessary, repeat this operation once more, but be careful with the thickness of the material you apply. Continue refining until you achieve a satisfactory result. Clean the entire area and apply a clear coat at least a couple of times. Finally, use very fine sandpaper to refine the entire area, wetting the paper with water. Finish with spray painting using a compressor.
