How to Replace the Hinge Bushings on a GMC Sierra Tailgate

Frequent use of the tailgate on a GMC Sierra may lead to difficulties in opening due to wear on some components. In this video, we will show how to replace the bushing. Open the tailgate, ensuring you have a support structure, and disconnect the support cables as shown at minute 2:55. Once the cables are disconnected, slightly close the tailgate while pulling it towards you: when you reach the right angle, the piece will slide out. At this point, proceed by removing the old bushing, sliding it out, and inserting the new piece as shown at 4:10. Finally, reattach the tailgate and reconnect the cables.
