How to Access Your GMC Terrain Even with a Dead Remote Battery

If your GMC Terrain is locked because the remote battery is dead, know that there is a system - perfectly legal because only you with the remote can do it - to unlock it. In fact, your remote has a physical key, which is meant for these emergency situations. Simply press the button on the side of your remote and pull. The emergency physical key will come out, and to access the key cylinder of the driver’s door handle, look carefully under the shorter part of the handle. There is a small slot where you need to insert the tip of the key and pull the handle at the same time. The lock cover will come off, and you can open the door with the physical key. Of course, you will need to change the battery now, but at least you will have gotten into the car.
