Replacement of Front Shock Absorber

Model: Honda Civic MK 6 - Years 1995-2001
Part: Suspension system

Loosen the wheel nuts and lift the vehicle, securing it safely. Unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel. Support the driveshaft with a hydraulic jack, then unscrew and extract the retaining pins of the arm from the suspension. Use penetrating spray to facilitate the operation. Also disconnect the steering tie rod and remove the brake assembly. Using a spanner and pliers, remove the suspension bolts and detach the shock absorber. Remove the protective cover in the engine compartment with a 16mm spanner, unscrew the three bolts at the top of the suspension. Remove the entire suspension assembly and clean off any deposits with a wire brush. Refit the new shock absorber.

To check the oil level on a Jeep Renegade, you need to open the bonnet to access the components inside the engine bay: on the lower left side of the engine block, you will find the dipstick for checking the level. This should be pulled out and thoroughly cleaned with a cloth: once cleaned, reinsert it back into its tube and pull it out immediately after. This way, you can check that the oil mark is between the minimum and maximum levels; finally, you can place the dipstick back in its tube.
