How to Change the Engine Oil on a Honda HR-V

To replace the engine oil on a Honda HR-V, park the vehicle on a flat surface and safely lift it to access the underbody. Place a drain pan under the oil sump, open the filler cap in the engine bay, and unscrew the drain bolt located at the bottom of the sump. Allow the used oil to drain completely, then reinstall the drain plug, ensuring the seal is in good condition. Remove the oil filter by unscrewing it with the appropriate tool and install the new one after lightly lubricating the seal with clean oil. Screw the new filter on until it is properly tightened. Pour the new engine oil into the filler neck, respecting the quantity specified for the engine. Check the level with the dipstick and add more if necessary. Start the engine for a few seconds, turn it off, and check for leaks around the filter and drain plug.
