Valve Clearance Adjustment

To adjust the valve clearance, you first need to have the appropriate feeler gauge and know the clearance value to assign to the intake and exhaust valves. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and proceed to remove the rocker cover to access the camshaft. You will also need to remove the intake manifold to access the rear bank: disconnect the hoses and connectors attached to the manifold and then remove it; remove the ignition coils and spark plug leads, freeing the relevant wiring from the grommet, both for the front and rear banks. At this point, remove the covers to access the valve adjusters. Remove the right front wheel to access the crankshaft pulley and rotate it to align the timing marks; then proceed with the valve clearance adjustment: loosen the adjuster lock nut, insert the feeler gauge, and adjust the clearance with a screwdriver until the feeler gauge enters and exits with slight resistance, then retighten the adjuster lock nut and repeat for each valve. Reassemble everything.
