Procedure for Changing Engine Oil

Model: Honda Civic MK 8 - Years 2006-2012

This tutorial explains how to change the engine oil of a Honda Civic. Lift the vehicle and secure it on a jack. Place newspapers and a collection bowl on the floor under the car, aligned with the oil sump. Using a ratchet spanner with an extension, remove the lower sump plug. The old oil will start to drain; in the meantime, if necessary, you can change the filter. A small amount of new oil can be added to the reservoir while the old oil is draining: this will help clean out any residue. Now close the lower sump plug and proceed to pour in the new oil (approximately 4 litres). Check the level with the dipstick and top up if necessary. Finally, close the upper filler cap.
