Replacing Rear Brake Discs and Brake Pads

Model: Hyundai Santa Fe MK 1 - Years 2000-2006

Lift the vehicle on suitable car stands and remove the wheel. Then unscrew the fixing screws of the disc to the hub and, before removing it, dismantle the brake caliper and its support: use a C-clamp to retract the caliper piston to install the new pads; clean both the caliper and the support of any debris with a brass brush. Apply grease to the guide pins of the support. Then remove the disc; clean the shoes with appropriate spray and grease the hinges; unclip the lower spring of the shoes and extract the handbrake adjuster screw to wash and lubricate it; then reassemble the screw and spring. Fit the new disc, securing it to the hub with the appropriate screws; reassemble the brake caliper support, insert the new pads, and then the brake caliper itself. Clean the disc of any protective oil residue.
