Engine Air Filter Replacement

Model: Hyundai Elantra XD, MK 3 - Years 2000-2006

The engine air filter housing (AIRBOX) is located just behind the battery, next to the rocker cover; therefore, unclip the metal tabs that secure the cover and lift it to remove the old filter. Ensure there are no impurities inside the filter box and remove them using a vacuum cleaner rather than compressed air to avoid them entering the intake duct. Then, fit the new filter, positioning it correctly, and finally secure the cover by reattaching the metal tabs.
