Steering Angle Sensor Calibration

Model: Hyundai Sonata - Years 2004-2014

If the electronic stability control (ESC) warning light remains illuminated on the instrument cluster, it is likely that the steering angle sensor needs calibration. This calibration must be performed whenever the steering wheel, steering column, or steering box has been removed, or simply after a wheel alignment. It is essential that when the steering wheel is in the straight-ahead position, the steering angle value is zero degrees. This calibration is carried out using a diagnostic tool: once the vehicle is selected, enter the ABS module and activate the calibration function following the instructions provided by the diagnostic tool. At the end of the calibration, there should be no faults in memory, and the warning light must be off.
