Replacing the External Door Handle

Model: Hyundai Santa Fe MK 1 - Years 2000-2006

If you need to replace the external door handle, consider having it painted, as the new handle is supplied unpainted with only primer. To remove the handle, first take off the door panel: remove the fixing screws along the edges, inside the opening lever housing and the internal handle. Remove the triangular trim covering the external mirror housing, unclip the panel, and disconnect the handle cable and window switch connector. At this point, you can access the fixing pins of the external handle; before removing them, disconnect the lock actuator rod. Remove the old handle and reverse the process to install the new one.
