How to Change the Oil and Filter on the Infiniti Q40

To change the engine oil and filter on this vehicle yourself, follow the instructions below and watch the video. Start by opening the hood and unscrewing the oil filler cap. Lift the vehicle and locate the sound-deadening plastic panel that needs to be removed to access the oil drain plug. Place a container on the floor to collect the used oil and proceed to unscrew the drain plug. Wait a few minutes for all the oil to drain out, and in the meantime, unscrew the filter and replace it with a new one after replacing the O-ring gasket. Then, screw the drain plug back in. Reattach the sound-deadening plastic panel. Go back to the top of the engine bay and add new oil, finally checking the level with the dipstick.
