Jaguar Xf - Video tutorial

Model: Jaguar Xf MK 1 - Years 2008-2015
Part: Gear oil
Operation: When should gearbox oil change in Jaguar XF?

Normally there is no provision for changing the gearbox oil of a car and of a Jaguar AD in this particular case. While the verification and, if necessary, the restoration of the level is foreseen, which generally takes place every 4 years. The replacement takes place only when the mechanic, during the check, deems it appropriate. In the case of an automatic gearbox, replacement is generally recommended every 80,000 kilometers unless otherwise indicated by the car manufacturer which should be indicated in the maintenance booklet. Let's see how to do the operation. First of all you need to disconnect and remove the battery. Below, we find the gearbox and the hole, plugged, from which we can carry out the oil change. We remove the cap and insert a cannula. Now we have to lift the car on the side where we are working. We identify the hole underneath the gearbox that is used to drain the old oil and unscrew the bolt after putting a pan underneath. At this point we have to clean the gearbox by making a special liquid flow from the upper hole to the drain hole several times, usually 4 times, until the fluid comes out of the drain fairly clear. Then we close the drain hole and we can pour in the new oil. The maintenance operation that is performed in the images is carried out on a Jaguar type X.
