When to Change the Gearbox Oil in the Jaguar XF?

Typically, the gearbox oil in a car, including a Jaguar, does not require replacement. However, it is necessary to check and, if needed, restore the level, which generally occurs every 4 years. Replacement only happens if the mechanic deems it necessary during the inspection. For automatic gearboxes, replacement is generally recommended every 50,000 miles unless otherwise indicated by the manufacturer in the service booklet. Here’s how to perform the operation.
First, disconnect and remove the battery. Below, you will find the gearbox and the sealed hole through which you can replace the oil. Remove the cap and insert a tube. Now, lift the car on the side you are working on. Locate the hole beneath the gearbox that is used to drain the old oil and unscrew the bolt after placing a container underneath. At this point, clean the gearbox by flushing a special fluid from the upper hole to the drain hole several times, usually 4 times, until clear fluid flows from the drain. Then, close the drain hole and you can pour in the new oil.
