Replacing the Key/Remote Battery of the Jeep Renegade

Model: Jeep Renegade 520, MK 1, BU - Years 2014-2026

To replace the battery of the key/remote for the Jeep Renegade, first, release the actual key from its housing (using the designated button). Now, remove the remote cover and, using a screwdriver or any flat tool, preferably plastic, proceed to remove the small protective cover (where it says "Jeep") from the battery housing. Insert the screwdriver into the gap between the remote and the small cover. Slide the screwdriver around the entire perimeter of the cover, and it will come off. You now have access to the battery for replacement.
