Resetting the Service Light on Jeep Compass

Model: Jeep Compass MK 1, MK 49 - Years 2006-2016

When the service warning light illuminates on the instrument cluster, it indicates that it's time for maintenance, either due to mileage or time elapsed. After performing the regular maintenance, including changing the engine oil and filter, you can proceed to reset the light. This is a manual procedure that does not require any diagnostic tools. Sit in the driver's seat and close all doors. Turn on the ignition and wait for the service light to appear. Within 10 seconds, press the accelerator pedal fully to the floor, turn off the ignition, and then turn it back on after 5 seconds.
