To replace the battery on a Jeep Grand Cherokee, locate the battery under the passenger seat. Open the car door and slide the seat forward (in other vehicles, it is commonly located in the engine bay). Remove the fabric cover of the battery. Start by unscrewing the battery terminal bolts with a socket wrench. Remove the old battery using the plastic handle and install a new one, tightening the power terminals. After securing all components to the battery, close the compartment with the cover. Start and test the vehicle.
