How do you open the key of a Jeep Grand Cherokee? Here’s how to open the key and replace the battery inside. Unscrew the screw on the key cover, then use a screwdriver to pry between the two parts of the plastic key cover. Remove the worn battery, take a new one of the same size and voltage. Fit the circuit board into the key cover. Reassemble the cover on your remote by pressing down until you hear it click into place. Check the remote key's functionality once the assembly is complete.
