How to Change the Engine Oil Filter on a Wrangler

This guide shows how to change the engine oil filter on the vehicle. First, unscrew the cap of the lubricant reservoir. It is important to ensure the vehicle is secure before performing the following operations: place a container under the oil sump and, using a hex key, unscrew the retaining cap and allow all the lubricant to drain out. Next, using a spanner, unscrew the oil filter cap located near the cooling air duct (some fluid may still drip during this operation). At this point, remove the unscrewed cap along with the filter, which must then be discarded. Clean this component and replace the gasket (previously lubricated to avoid potential breakage). Insert the new filter into the housing, ensuring to align the foot with the corresponding hole, then fit the cap and tighten securely. Refit the oil sump cap after replacing the gasket. Now, fill the reservoir to the specified level and the operation is complete.
