How do you change the remote battery in a Jeep Compass? In this guide, we will go through the various steps to follow. Start by extracting the emergency key using the designated lever. Once extracted, use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the slot next to the emergency key slot you just removed. At this point, you will be able to open the remote. In one of the two halves, you will see the battery compartment; use the screwdriver again to pry out the battery. Now insert the new battery, ensuring the positive terminal is facing down, so the side facing you is the negative terminal. You can now close the remote by applying slight pressure to fit the two halves together. Finally, reinsert the emergency key.
