Cost Reduction Differences Between the Jeep Renegade Pre-2019 and Post-2019

In this video, see how, despite the Jeep Renegade model not changing, there are significant differences between the pre-2019 and post-2019 versions, and they are not positive. This is known as de-standardisation: instead of increasing the prices of a model, standard accessories are removed, becoming optional or eliminated altogether. For example, the front profile has been revised in the facelift, but there are more substantial changes inside: the air conditioning has been redesigned, as has the 12V socket. The rear handle has also been redesigned. And that’s where the improvements end. Now for the disappointing notes; in the engine bay, the shields and bonnet seals have been removed. The instrument cluster no longer features the mud patch but only an anonymous rectangle. In the centre armrest, we lose the USB socket, and the mat that used to have a desert design now does not. In the rear seats, there is no longer a 230V socket, nor the pocket behind the front seats, and no armrests for the rear passengers. In the boot, we had retaining hooks, nets to secure loose items, two halogen lights, and a 12V socket. In the new model, we only have one halogen light. Additionally, the automatic door locking feature above a certain speed has been removed. The option exists in U-connect, but the submenu is missing. Last but not least, the fuel filler flap remains open.
