Replacing Front Discs and Pads on Kia Ceed

Here’s how to replace the front discs and pads on the Kia Ceed: first, check the brake fluid level, then with the front of the car lifted, remove the wheels. Unscrew the brake caliper, lift it, and remove the worn pads. If present, disconnect the wear indicator. Unscrew and completely remove the caliper and its bracket. Hang the caliper with a hook to avoid stressing the brake line. Remove the fixing screws and slide off the disc. Do not use a hammer to avoid damaging the hub and ABS sensors. Clean the hub thoroughly (it must be perfectly smooth to avoid vibrations) and check the caliper, piston, and sliding guides. Push back the piston to make room for the new pads. Clean the anti-corrosion layer off the new discs, fit them, and check their flatness with a dial gauge. Reattach the caliper bracket, apply ceramic paste to the contact surfaces of the pads, and insert them into the bracket. Refit the caliper, put the wheels back on, lower the car, and tighten the bolts to the correct torque. Before moving, press the brake pedal several times until normal pressure is felt.
