The V-belt is also known as the auxiliary belt, as it drives the auxiliary services of the engine such as the alternator, air conditioning compressor, and power steering pump. Before proceeding with the disassembly, it is advisable to note the routing of the belt through the various pulleys to facilitate its subsequent installation. In the case of the vehicle in question, the auxiliary belt can be inspected by accessing from the passenger side wheel arch and is tensioned by the alternator: simply loosen the adjustment bolt to remove it.
