Kia Sorento - Video tutorial

Model: Kia Sorento MK 1 - Years 2002-2009
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Replacing the rear shock absorbers

In this tutorial the rear shock absorbers of a Kia Sorento are removed and replaced. The car is lifted onto a bridge and the rear wheels are removed. The shock absorber to be replaced is identified and the lower part of the shock absorber is disassembled with a screwdriver with a 19 mm pocket and an eyelet wrench. Once the upper part has also been unscrewed, the old shock absorber is extracted and replaced with a new one which will first be locked in the upper part. To be fixed also at the rear, the car must be raised further by compressing the spring until the holes are perfectly aligned. After having also tightened the lower bolt, the wheel can be reassembled.
