Replacing Rear Shock Absorbers

In this tutorial, the rear shock absorbers of a Kia Sorento are removed and replaced. The vehicle is lifted on a ramp and the rear wheels are removed. Identify the shock absorber to be replaced, and using a 19 mm socket wrench and a spanner, remove the lower part of the shock absorber. Once the upper part is also unscrewed, the old shock absorber is extracted and replaced with a new one, which will first be secured at the top. To also secure it at the back, further lift the vehicle, compressing the spring until the holes are perfectly aligned. After tightening the lower bolt, the wheel can be reattached.
