Changing the engine oil in a Kia Picanto is a straightforward task that can be done independently, provided you purchase the original filter and the manufacturer's oil. First, lift the car with a jack to remove the oil sump using a socket wrench, allowing the old oil to drain out. Once the oil has fully drained, reattach the oil sump. Lower the car and change the filter, which is located under the exhaust manifold; use a chain wrench to unscrew it. Remove and install the new filter. Finally, add the new oil, with a capacity of 3 litres.
