Want to replace the gear knob on a Land Rover Freelander? Here’s how to do it. Use a plastic lever to detach the leather gaiter frame, then grasp the gear knob and rotate it left and right until it comes off the gear stick (remove the lower gaiter frame if you want to replace it). For installation, take the new knob and slide it onto the stick in the centre console, tightening it onto the stick. Finally, test the movement of the stick in the centre console to ensure the new knob is correctly fitted.
