How to Remove the Fuel Filter on Discovery

Model: Land Rover Discovery MK 2, Discovery 2, L318 - Years 1998-2004
Part: Diesel fuel filter

Let's see how to remove the fuel filter from under the vehicle. Lift the Discovery on a column lift, locate the fuel filter under the vehicle's chassis. Use a socket wrench to remove the fastening screws on the sides of the filter's mounting plate where the fuel filter is located (disconnect the wires and various hoses from the filter). Remove the filter from under the vehicle. Install the new filter onto the mounting plate and tighten the appropriate screws (connect the hoses and wires). Start the vehicle to test its operation once it is lowered.
