Let's see how to remove the airbag from the steering wheel of the Lincoln MKZ: first, when working around the airbag, we need to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid the risk of it accidentally exploding in our face while we are fiddling with the airbag module. At the bottom of the steering wheel, we find a small hole; we turn the steering wheel to bring the hole to the other side, and insert a small screwdriver into it, which will release the airbag spring, allowing us to remove it from its housing. We disconnect the electrical connectors that link it to the system, and at this point, the airbag module is free.
