Timing Belt Replacement on a Mazda 2

Let's see how to replace the timing belt and tensioner on a Mazda 2. First, lift the car on a column lift and remove the wheel. Next, use a socket wrench to remove the right wheel arch liner. Use a spanner to loosen the tensioner and remove the belt from its seat. Unscrew the tensioner fastening bolt with a socket wrench and remove it from the engine compartment. Fit the new tensioner and belt, and tighten everything with the spanner. Finally, reattach the fastening bolts of the wheel arch liner and refit the wheel with the tyre onto the vehicle.
