Changing the engine oil and filter is undoubtedly one of the most common DIY tasks for motorists. For the Mazda CX-5, the process is the same as for all cars; you will need a container to collect the used oil and a strap or chain wrench to unscrew and then screw on the oil filter. Start by unscrewing the oil sump plug, allowing the degraded oil to drain out, then screw it back in. Next, remove the old filter, install the new one, and finally pour in the new engine oil.
