Engine Oil Change for Mazda CX-5

Changing the engine oil and filter is a maintenance task that can easily be done yourself, provided you dispose of the used oil correctly. Start the engine for a few minutes to warm it up and facilitate the oil drainage. Position the vehicle on a level surface, perhaps on axle stands, to access the underside of the engine. Remove the stone guard and locate the filter and drain plug. Unscrew the plug to drain the oil and replace the filter with a new one, applying clean oil to the gasket before screwing it in. Replace the washer on the sump plug before refitting it, and finally, fill the engine with new oil until the maximum level is reached.
