Changing the engine oil and filter is a maintenance task that can easily be done yourself, provided you dispose of the used oil correctly. Start the engine for a few minutes to warm it up and facilitate the oil drainage.

Position the vehicle on a level surface, perhaps on axle stands, to access the underside of the engine. Remove the stone guard and locate the filter and drain plug.

Unscrew the plug to drain the oil and replace the filter with a new one, applying clean oil to the gasket before screwing it in. Replace the washer on the sump plug before refitting it, and finally, fill the engine with new oil until the maximum level is reached.

To reset the tyre pressure warning light on the Kia Niro EV, inflate the tyres until they reach the correct pressure value. This value is indicated on the sticker attached to the driver's door pillar. Once the tyres are inflated, turn on the instrument cluster to check that the warning light has completely disappeared from the display. If it is still present, you may need to drive for a few miles to ensure it disappears completely from the screen.
