Replacement of Remote Key Battery

Model: Mazda 6 GG, MK 1 - Years 2002-2008

Press the button to open the metal key (commonly referred to as the 'blade'): inside the blade slot, there is a tab that must be pressed to separate the key holder from the remote. At this point, pry between the shells of the remote to separate them: one houses the circuit board and the other the battery; extract the old battery, clean the battery compartment and tab of any oxide residues, and insert the new battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the remote shells and reattach them to the key holder.
