Changing the Gearbox Oil

Model: Mazda 3 BK, MK 1 - Years 2003-2009

If you experience gear engagement issues after many miles, you should change the oil in the gearbox. After loosening some bolts of the sump, allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Completely remove the sump and clean it, especially near the magnets, to remove any metallic particles. Replace the gasket, reattach the sump, and top up the gearbox with the correct amount of the appropriate oil. Check the engine oil level and take the vehicle for a test drive to see if the automatic gearbox issues have been resolved. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to designated collection centres.
