If the brake lights on your Mazda CX-7 have suddenly stopped working and the bulbs are intact, first check the status of the relevant fuse, whose location is shown in this video. The fuse in question is located in the box within the engine compartment, protected by the black plastic cover next to the battery.

It is a 10A fuse and is the second in the first column of the lower fuse group when looking at the box from the front. If faulty, ensure you use a replacement with equivalent specifications and operate with the vehicle turned off.
