How to Replace the Radiator on a Mercedes GL?

To replace the radiator on a Mercedes GL, start by placing the car on a safe and stable surface. Allow the engine to cool completely, then remove the cap from the expansion tank to release any residual pressure in the cooling system.

Locate the drain tap on the radiator, place a container underneath it, and drain the coolant. Next, remove the undertray to facilitate access.

After disconnecting the inlet and outlet coolant hoses, unscrew the mounting bolts that secure the radiator to the frame and disconnect any electrical cables or sensors connected to the radiator. At this point, carefully extract the radiator, avoiding damage to surrounding components.

Position the new radiator in the same housing, reattach the hoses and electrical connections, and tighten all mounting bolts. Once installed, refill the system with the appropriate coolant for the model.

Start the engine and let it run for a while, checking for leaks and ensuring the system operates correctly, then check the coolant level and add if necessary.
