How do you reset the Mercedes CLK control unit?

In order to reset the Mercedes CLK's control unit, you need to insert the ignition key into the corresponding slot, so that you can turn on the instrument panel: once the panel is on, you can press the accelerator pedal all the way down for about five seconds. After this time has passed, you can release the pedal and turn off the instrument panel. This way, you will be able to see that the reset of the car's engine management system has been successfully processed.
