Regular maintenance of the vehicle ensures a long life and prevents breakdowns. The checks that every driver can perform are very simple but important. Regularly replacing the air filter is one of those easy tasks: open the airbox, remove the old cartridge, and replace it with a new one, making sure to clean the inside of the airbox and seal it tightly. A second check, equally important, is to verify the various fluids necessary for operation. Wipe the various reservoirs with a cloth and check that the fluids are within the min and max marks; if necessary, top them off. A somewhat more involved task is checking the brake pads, as it requires removing the wheels for inspection. Also, check the wear on the various belts, ensuring there are no frays or cuts. Especially in winter, it's necessary to check the battery condition, which should not show any corrosion on the terminals; if it does, remove the clamps and clean the posts thoroughly with rags and deoxidizing liquids.
