To reset the "Service" light on a Mercedes C-Class, start by turning on the instrument panel without starting the engine. Use the buttons on the steering wheel to access the onboard computer menu.

Press the "Home" or "Menu" button and use the directional arrows to navigate through the options. Look for the section related to maintenance or service intervals, often labeled as "Service" or "Assist Plus". Once you have entered the correct section, scroll to the option for service reset.

At this point, select the reset option and hold down the confirmation button on the steering wheel. The system will ask you to confirm your choice, and once done, it will continue the reset process.

The "Service" light will turn off, indicating that the system has recorded the new maintenance interval. For safety, turn off and on the instrument panel to verify that the light no longer comes on. If the reset does not work on the first try, repeat the steps carefully to ensure that the procedure was done correctly.
