How to lift the wipers in maintenance mode on Mercedes cars

In this video we can see how to put the windshield wipers on most Mercedes cars in maintenance mode. It is a system designed to prevent the wiper arm from hitting the edge of the hood when lifted, which could damage both the paint and the mechanism itself. Turn on the instrument panel, then turn it off again: to activate the service position after performing this preliminary operation, press and hold down the windshield washer lever on the steering wheel for 2/3 seconds. The wipers will move up on the windshield in a vertical position. If the procedure does not work, there is an alternative method. Turn on the instrument panel, activate the wipers, and turn off the car while the blades are halfway through the movement on the windshield. It's not an elegant method, but it works in case of necessity.
